For the most part Lorelei is doing remarkably well with all of these transitions.
My time in the hospital was difficult for her. Â She was happy during the days when things were “normal”, but broke down each night when she had to leave the hospital. Â The longer I stayed the more comfortable she became there, which was not necessarily a good thing. Â She got restless and a little too comfortable.
The next day Zach wheeled me back to the NICU. Â I got to hold Rowan again. Â This time is when everything hit me. Â I sat there holding him and crying. Â Zach may have also teared up a little.
I wasn’t allowed to see him until after the mag was turned off.  I was also not allowed to eat.  Eventually I was at least allowed to have some sprite.  At some point they helped me get from the bed to a chair.  THAT was not fun.  Not even a little fun.
